25th International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics
WELCOME MESSAGE
The 25th International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (25th ICTAM) will take place from 22 to 27 August 2021. This edition will follow the 24th ICTAM held in Montreal in August 2016.
The 25th ICTAM was initially scheduled from 23 to 28 August 2020 and should have taken place in Milano. Due to the covid-19 pandemia, the Organizing Committee, together with the Executive Congress Committee and the President of IUTAM, decided to postpone this important event by one year and recently decided to transform the 25th ICTAM in a fully virtual Congress. This decision was considered the most reasonable and the only option available in order to organize an ICTAM Congress which could see the active participation of the very high number of Authors that submitted high quality scientific works.
ICTAM congresses are organized under the auspices of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) and traditionally gather every four years the mechanics community from around the world. These are unique occasions to discuss of science, strengthen relationships, create new contacts and gain a direct experience of the new progresses in mechanics and of the continuously growing field of applications of this ever-green discipline. Participation in the 25th ICTAM-Virtual will allow you to enjoy the high quality scientific program that has already been setup by the International Congress Committee.
The Organization of 25th ICTAM-Virtual will is supported by AIMETA, the Italian Association of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano and Università di Pavia, which provide the highly experienced and motivated Local Organizing Committee.
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and of the IUTAM Congress Committee, I would like to let you have my warmest invitation to join us for the 25th ICTAM-Virtual.
Mark your agenda today! I look forward to having you as active participants from 22 to 27 August 2021 connected to an exciting 25th ICTAM-Virtual. I also wish you and your families good health and resilience during these difficult times.
