- We would like to invite you to a series of two community action and advocacy planning sessions to develop a consensus plan to invest $10,000 in specific actions using data from the STAIR network. These events are open to all Orlando area residents including sensor hosts, community organizations, and local leaders. Representatives from the City of Orlando and Orange County Environmental Protection Division will also be at each session to discuss air quality and environmental planning.
- Monday, May 1, 2023 from 1-2pm on Zoom: During this meeting we will provide a very brief overview of the project, how to access and interpret the air quality data, and answer any questions or concerns that you may have about the data. We will record this meeting and make it available to anyone upon request.
- Monday, May 8 from 5-7:30pm in-person at UCF Downtown: During this meeting, UCF will facilitate the discussions and planning process and will arrange to spend the money requested (with some restrictions). Participants should attend the first meeting or watch the recording in order to participate in the second meeting.
- Friday, October 7, 2022 from 10-11am on Zoom: We will host a webinar for our public data release and take questions from attendees. - Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 6:45-8:30pm IDEAS for Us Hive Meeting: We will be presenting at the May IDEAS for Us Hive meeting on Wednesday, May 4 from 6:45-8:30pm at the Center for Health and Wellbeing in Winter Park (2005 Mizell Park, Winter Park FL 32792). This is an in-person event during which we will talk a little more about our study, air quality in Central Florida, and develop community advocacy plans using air quality data. - Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 8-9pm Virtual Community Meeting: UCF STAIR (Smart & Trustworthy Air Quality Network) hosts this online community event to review local air quality, our air quality sensors, and the goals of this NSF-funded project. Chris Castro, Director of Sustainability and Resilience at the City of Orlando will also be there to discuss the City of Orlando’s plans to protect local air quality. We will also review our upcoming online training program for all interested project participants on local air quality and citizen advocacy.
