- Note from Dr. Haofei Yu (PI) on this story: “We did not find significant particle pollution issue in the Orlando region across all communities and districts. We prefer not to rank communities and districts based on the measurements, which can misled some to believe they have severe air pollution issues, which is not the case. In addition, we did observe occasional short-term pollution events due to fireworks and unfavorable meteorological conditions. What we meant is that during these special pollution events, sensitive individuals such as those with asthma may need to be cautious. We do not mean that these individuals need to be on high alert all the time if they live in certain areas of Orlando.”
